Aspire Development Academy 2016
Athletics Auckland have confirmed the selections for the 2016 Aspire Development Academy. A total of 58 athletes from 16 different clubs have selected.
In it's third year the Academy is gaining popularity amongst athletes and clubs and is a major stepping stone for athletes aged 13yrs and above in Auckland to not only recieve quality coaching but also the opportunity to be part of a high perfomance team.
Anthony Curry (Athletics Auckland Sport Development Officer and Aspire Programme Manager) says, "the acadmey was started in 2014, to fill a void in the Auckland coaching framework, in an attempt to stop the drop out of athletes 13yrs-U18. We started with 30 athletes in 2014 and have grown to just under 60 this year. This shows the populaity of the programme and coaches"
Athletics Auckland congratulates all selected athletes.
