It's been a busy time for athletes and officials throughout May and June. We head to the businnes end of the season with a number of upcoming Championship events keeping the staff and winter delegates committee of Athletics Auckland busy. In this issue we look back at the Auckland Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships, review the Athletics Auckland Teams Championships and look forward to the New Zealand Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships, Glen Eden 10 Miler and the Grand Prix 4 on Saturday 27th June.
Auckland Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships
The Auckland Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships were held on Thursday 4th June on a very challeging and muddy Pukekohe course. For the first time in years, Auckland turned the weather on and with 80mm of rain in the 12 hours prior to the first event it wasn't easy for anyone espeecially the Senior Boys, the lasst event on the programme. A total of 600 athletes raced in the Championships.
Senior titles went to Dan Hoy (Westlake Boys) and Isabella Richards (St Kentigern College)
Senior 6 man titles went to Auckland Grammar School (holding of Westlake Boys by 1 point) and St Kentigern Collge in the girls.

Athletics Auckland Teams Championship
Our annual Athletics Auckland Teams Championships puts club rivarly on the line and 2015 was no exception. The usual battle between ACA and Pakuranga was fought out with Pakuranga coming out on top this year.

New Zealand Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships
On Saturday the New Zealand Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships will be held in Dunedin. A number of Auckland Schools have enter and we wish them all the best for the Championships.

Glen Eden 10 Miler - Jackson aiming for six and the record
On Sunday is the 51st Glen Eden 10 miler. this is the longest running road race in New Zealand. Jono has won the last 5 editions of the event and is aming for a sixth. The course record of 52.35mins held by Mark Bright from 1990 appears to be within grasp of Jackson.

Athletics Auckland Grand Prix - Race 4
On Saturday 27th June we head North to the beach for the fourth race of the Grand Prix series to be held at Long Bay Regional Reserve. A typically fast course which is an ideal test for all athletes heading into the North Island Cross Country Championships and the Athletics Auckland Cross Country Championships.
