1. What are your main achievements in Athletics?
Placing third at the 2014 World Junior Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Breaking the NZ senior women’s pole vault record. Placing 4th at the World Youth Championships in Donetsk, Ukraine.
2. What are the main challenges of the season?
I became ill with Glandular Fever half way through the season, which ended my season early. This significantly reduced my chances of qualifying for the Commonwealth Games and effected my preparation for World Juniors. Once coming back into proper training I developed shin splints around the end of May, which again had a huge impact on my training and build up. These set backs made the certainly made the season challenging but I had a lot of support to get me healthy for World Juniors
3. What are your future goals (short and long term)?
Next year I will be trying to qualify for the Senior World Championships and World Universities. Beyond this the Rio Olympics in 2016 is the major goal I am working towards.
4. What is your favourite food pre-competition?
Fruit and nuts and a big coffee.
5. Do you have any training advice?
Every little thing helps; the ultimate goal will only be achieved with the success of all the little goals building towards it. If you put the work in it will show.
