ATHLETICS AUCKLAND 2023 SENIOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Due to a very crowded calendar the AAI Track & Field Championships will take place a week earlier this season.
To allow athletes opportunity to compete in as many events as possible and avoid long Championship days, the Championships will be over 4 weekends.
With the unavailability of Mt Smart the main Championship weekend is planned for Pakuranga.

However, we need to hold some events at AUT Millennium, for equipment availability or Health & Safety reasons, as well. These events – Pole Vault and some Throws – will be held as shown below.
The Hurdles, Walks and Steeplechase will be held at Pakuranga.

Saturday 21 January 2023             Sprint Hurdles, Steeplechase as part of the McKinnon Shield program
Weekend of 4-5 February 2023      60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Discus
Saturday 18 February 2023            2000m/3000m Walks, Long Hurdles
Sunday 19 February 2023               Javelin, Hammer, Weight Throw
Saturday 11 March 2023                  Pole Vault as part of the McKinnon Shield program

Entries will close on the following dates:

Saturday 21 January 2023 as per the normal McKinnon Shield entry at 11.59 pm on the prior Wednesday.
Weekend of 4 February 2023 at 11.59 pm on Sunday 22 January 2023.
Saturday 18 February 2023 as per the normal McKinnon Shield entry at 11.59 pm on the prior Wednesday.
Sunday 19 February 2023 as per the normal McKinnon Shield entry at 11.59 pm on the prior Wednesday.
Saturday 11 March 2023 as per the normal McKinnon Shield entry at 11.59 pm on the prior Wednesday.

Championship Grades: U14 – Masters and U17, U20 & Open Para
*Only championship events will be held due to the World Cross Country Championships on 18 February
