Athletics Auckland Children’s Track & Field

Children’s Track & Field is for anyone aged  7 – 14 years (as at 31st December 2022). The Athletics Auckland Children’s Committee is made up of representatives from Athletics Auckland affiliated clubs. The season runs from 1st October to 31 March each year with a calendar of events posted to the website. These events include Club Ribbon Days and Athletics Auckland organised events at Mt Smart Stadium (and other venues in Auckland).Being involved in athletics will not only make you a better athlete but will assist your ability in other sports by helping you run faster, jump higher and throw further.

If you are aged 14 or under and wish to become involved in athletics your first step is to find an athletics club near you.

In the past Athletics Auckland selected two teams for this competition. The two teams are called Auckland and Counties Manukau. Both teams have had very good results from this event over the last 10 years.  However Athletics NZ has decided to change the format of this annual event.  We will advise the Auckland Athletics community once we are advised of the details.  If you are interested in either team please contact the Team Managers below.
