We try to be one of the friendliest clubs with a focus on participation and sportspersonship and opportunities for all abilities to feel valued.

Junior Club Night: Wednesdays 6-7:30 all ages from preschool through to older teens
Junior Coaching: Junior club night is for coaching, primarily. We also have a youth/senior sprint squad that trains twice weekly year round (Mon/Weds), junior distance running groups and jumps and hurdles groups.

Other Info: We are only a few volunteers, we are struggling to keep the club operating and to run our own club nights. We do not have the capacity to help with away meets and to be honest not that many people want to attend them. Hopefully, your expectations of Ellerslie Club are less than some of the bigger clubs in Auckland.

Winter Season: Only for individual athletes, we don’t currently have the capacity to run a full Winter X country team.

WCAC is one of the largest athletics clubs in Auckland. The dedication and support of the coaches and parents continues to produce athletes that compete at a high level, both here in NZ and internationally. Currently, we can claim two 2024 Olympians as long-term registered members, including Maddie Wesche who won a Silver at the 2024 Olympics and Zoe Hobbs, NZ’s current fastest female athlete. We also have a huge number of up and coming U20 and Senior NZ reps amongst our squad and continue to build athletes across all ages.
The Club’s purpose is to encourage all children to have fun, to develop skills in run, jump, throw, and participate safely in the spirit of fair play. We hope that you will enjoy the summer season, meet other members of your community and participate in the activities provided.
We aim to provide the best available year-round coaching, training and competition to athletes in almost every age-group; and to inspire enthusiastic interaction and support among all members, parents, supporters and sponsors.
