McKinnon Shield Series

“At the masters level, people are really supportive, friendly and having a great time doing what they do” – Vianca Lagerwell (Masters Athlete)

The McKinnon Shield Series is our inter-club athletics competition.

It is open to athletes 12 years and older with up to 10 events throughout the course of the summer season from October to March.  Athletes earn points for their club team based on the events that they do with the aim of helping their club be crowned McKinnon Shield champions.

McKinnon Shield meets are open to everyone, fast or not so fast, experienced or not so experienced.  Wherever you are on your athletics journey, the McKinnon Shield Series is for you.

All events are seeded.  This means that you will only be competing against people of similar ability to you which makes for enjoyable athletics experiences for all involved.

We have an alternating event grid meaning that not all events are held at each McKinnon Shield meet.  Over the course of the summer season, most events are held 4 to 5 times with some held more often.

For a small taste of the McKinnon Shield experience, watch the following video.
