For the Auckland Team to NZ Road Championships Athletes U18 Grades only and above

Are you thinking of running in the NZ Road Country Championships? All athletes need to enter themselves via the Athletics NZ Online Entry Form https://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=319711 prior to midnight 2/9/2023.
Would you like to be selected in the Auckland Team? The Selectors now invite Expressions of Interest to assist with athlete availability.
The Auckland Centre aims to take a full competitive team of 50 athletes and 2 managers to this event with the likely team composition to be as follows:
5 x Senior Men and Women, 5 x U20 Men and Women, 5 x U18 Men and Women, 5 x Masters Men and Women 35-49, 5 x Masters Men 50+ Men and Women
We would like to potentially select athletes in each grade as soon as possible however final team selection will be confirmed as soon as possible after the Auckland Championships (Sunday 20/8/23).

We want to give you and the Selectors some certainty around planning for this event.
Please see under Travel below for Team flights/accommodation package or you may wish to book your own flight at a time that suits you and at the price you want to pay. This gives the Selectors surety of athlete availability in each grade.
Team Travel to Palmerton North
Athletics Auckland will, as usual, offer a team package and have arranged limited flights travelling in two groups. Departing Auckland 9/9/23 at 8.15am and 10.55am Saturday morning. Departing Palmerston North Sunday 10/9/23 at 5.05pm and 8.50pm.
Package also includes accommodation (dinner Sat night and breakfast Sun morning) and land transport.
With the assistance of funding the full package price will be $300.00.
For those making their own travel arrangements but wishing to stay with the team the price will be $110.00
Process
- Notify Convenor of Selectors Bruce Calway calway@xtra.co.nz that you wish to be considered for selection. Give name, grade, contact phone, and indicate whether you wish to take the team package (see below) or travel independently.
- Put in your entry to the National Champs. Entries close Saturday 2/9/23.
- If travelling independently book your flights.
