Dominic Devlin scored a sub 1:49 800m for the first time with an impressive clocking of 1:48.63 in absolute perfect conditions. Requiring a time to qualify for the World University Games the 24 year old Devlin was paced through the first 500m by Michael Dawson. They were through the 400m in 52s and Devlin finished full of running and was delighted on hearing his time. His previous best of 1:49.18 was back in 2019 in Whanganui.
