AAI Winter Competition Calendar Updated under Level 4 Lockdown
Auckland Road Relay Champs and Auckland Road Championships.
It has been decided that with the AAI Road Relays needing to be cancelled and the uncertainty around levels for Auckland, it is unrealistic to hold these events in September.
We have however secured the date of 17th October at Bruce Pulman Park for our Auckland Road Champs if levels will allow. As a result of the AAI Road Relays being cancelled we are looking to introduce a teams component similar to the cross country teams into the Road Championship event. We are also mindful however that Auckland may still be in level 2 and that this would affect such an event.
Plans are being made to try and still hold an event with a different format and rules at level 2 subject to Government rules and guidelines as well as any requirement of Bruce Pulman Park. Full details of this will be given if necessary closer to the proposed event.
As a result of the above decisions we reluctantly advise that we will not hold a combined prizegiving again this year. Medals ,certificates, etc will be able to be collected by clubs from the AAI office after a date to be advised.
We will however give Grandprix awards this year based on the Cross Country season. Points will be awarded in the usual way and you will still be able to drop your lowest point.
Please watch for further information which we will post as soon as it becomes available and keep training as well as you are able.
