McKinnon Shield Round 3 - Pukekohe take the win

Round 3 of the McKinnon Shield has come and gone with Pukekohe flexing their muscles to take their first win of the series at Herb Towers Track. After coming in 2nd last week they turned up the heat to easily take the win. Ellerslie who scored 0 points in round 1 and on only 2 points in round 2 shot up the leaderboard to take a a deserved place on the podium. In another surprise, Roskill South who haven’t been successful in getting on the leaderboard at all through the series got up for third.

The shield is highlighting the importance of getting club members competing and the smaller clubs are definitely wanting to take down the powerhouses of athletics in Auckland.

The McKinnon Shield takes a break for a week and returns on Saturday 5th December – the last round for 2020.
