Flashback Thursday - 14th May 2020

This week we’re again in 1996, for another running of the Men’s 800m of the Smokefree Series; this time from the famed former home of Canterbury Athletics, QEII Stadium. Mark Turner, Steve Willis, Mark Harris, and Vaughan Priddy all return; as does Australian Martin Byron.

This week we also see Carl Jackson (former Commercial and Marketing Manager at Athletics New Zealand), Clyde McIntosh (1996 New Zealand representative at the World Junior Championships), and Simon Maunder (sub four minute miler, and 3000m Champion in 2000, and father of two up and coming children’s grade runners)

Once again the commentary by the doyen of Athletics commentating Brendan Telfer and the dulcet tones of John Davies.
