Southland Centennial ACA Relays

The host club’s women’s ACA team won the women’s 3 x 3000m cross country relay in 32:55 heading in Owairaka by nearly a minute. Sophia Haines led off for ACA covering the two laps of 1500m in 11:13. Nina Chalmers. National under 18 1500m champion was next in the fastest individual women’s time of 10:17, with Amy Towers anchoring them home in 11:25. Oratia were third in 36:37 and Lynndale under 18 team won on handicap.
Lisa Cross was second fastest overall in 10:35 and she also ran 11:03 for the TTT masters team. Leah Hankey ran 11:08.
ACA also won the senior men’s 5 x 3000m relay in 50:47, after the first team Wesley were disqualified from taking fastest time honours, after their leading runner Rasmus Bengtsson completed the first and last laps for them. Bengtsson had the fastest individual time of 9:18 and he cut out his last lap in 9:37. Ben Oxford of ACA was next fastest with 9:20, Jacob Hendrickx of Pakuranga, who were second, ran 9:21 and Rodwyn Isaacs 9:23. Pakuranga junior men won the handicap honours.

Under 16 4 x 2000m: Owairaka (Rory Davies 6:32, Ollie Cheetham 7:32, Grace Parkinson 8:06, Harrison Skewes 6:56) 29:06, Pakuranga Red 29:11, Lynndale #1 29:31. Handicap Owairaka B and TTT #1. Fastest times; Rory Davies 6:32, Leo Green 6:42, Tyler Poland 6:49, Tobias Crowhurst 6:52, Harrison Skewes 6:58, Thomas Smallfield 7:12. Sofia Maulvurfs 7:19.
