Para Athlete Paddy Walsh T64 received the Athlete of the week honours after improving on her own New Zealand Para Athlete long jump record. Walsh was out to 4.33m +0.8, bettering her 4.17m set at the New Zealand championships in Wellington last March.
George Wyllie proved too strong over the final lap heading in Waikato Bay of Plenty team mate Callum Murray in 4:11.88 to win the 37th edition of the annual Sir John Walker junior mile. Murray recorded 4:12.86 with James Ford of Auckland third in 4:14.80.
Peyton Leigh led throughout to win the Millie Sampson under 23 mile in a PB and event record of 4:52.81. Charo Heijnen was second in 5:00.07 and Sascha Letica third in 5:11.41. Boh Ritchie won the inaugural race last year in 4:57.50.
